The park is only 5 miles from the lively village of Bowness which makes Avon Wood Lodges an ideal base for touring the National Park, stately homes and market towns of the Lake District.
The Lakes Aquarium is a popular attraction close to Avon Wood & the excellent World of Beatrix Potter at Bowness on Windermere is sure to please. This attraction has recently been revamped, with all 23 of Beatrix Potter's tales now featured.
Be sure to visit Dove Cottage and the Wordsworth Museum in Grasmere as well as Beatrix Potter’s Hill Top farmhouse near Sawrey. A scenic cruise on an old fashioned steamer on Lake Windermere could be a highlight of lodge holidays in Cumbria and the Lakes.
